How do I change the flexible ribbon cable on my Kenwood KDC-516s?
I got an answer that that was most likely the problem so now I have no idea how to change it because it goes inside the CD player and not just hte Face Plate so I don’t want to take it out because I’m no professional with this.

I’ve never done one of this model, but all the Kenwoods have been about the same.
You start by unpluging the power cable while the face is rotating. You want the face about half way open. Remove the top cover and remove the CD deck. Most have another of those flexible cables attached. Disconnect it by releasing the clamp on the connector. Now locate and disconnect the ribbon cable to the face. On some Kenwoods, there will be a bracket you have to remove first to access the connector.
